Centrifugal separators are used in many production processes and in various fields of application.

Beer

Beer is obtained by adding grains, yeast, hops, and other ingredients to water.

Fruit juices

There are numerous applications for fruit juices and a wide variety of fruits from which to extract juices.

Marine

Onboard ships of all sizes, from small yachts to cruise ships and cargo vessels, inexpensive, dirty raw fuels are used.

Plant beverages

Every year, the production of plant-based beverages increases significantly.

Vinegar (clarification)

Before being sold, vinegar must be clarified.

Processing water

Whenever we need to use large amounts of water as a coolant during the processing of inert materials (mines), we can clean the water itself with a centrifuge.

Precious metals

When working with precious metals and using water as a coolant for machinery with low solid content, a vertical disc separator can be used.

Rice, potato, corn, or root starch

Food flavors

The industry uses a huge variety of flavored extracts. These are produced using enzymes and/or alcohol and then distilled so that the alcohol separates from the dissolved flavors.

Gasoline and fuels

When gasoline (or any fuel like kerosene) is stored in tanks, it is often contaminated by external elements such as water or rust from the tanks themselves.

Bilge water

As the term itself suggests, bilge water accumulates at the bottom of a ship and is often contaminated with oil, lubricants, fuels, condensation liquids, black and gray water, and washing detergents. This water becomes foul-smelling and rich in bacteria. Discharge of this water into the sea is prohibited and must be treated immediately.

Vegetable broth

The production of vegetable broth involves the introduction of vegetables and ingredients that are boiled in turn. Therefore, a separation of this solid biomass is necessary in the subsequent phase to leave a clear and limpid broth.

Cocoa butter

In the production of cocoa butter, after pressing, a product with a small amount of solid with a similar concentration of fat and liquor is obtained. In this case, a vertical separator is ideal because it easily separates the two heavy (liquor) and light liquid (fat) phases from the solid.

Rendering (animal fat)

The processing of slaughterhouse by-products is a well-established process.

Vegetable degumming

Degumming is the process of refining vegetable oils where compounds that cause defects in the oil’s characteristics and preservation problems are removed, essentially extracting the gums (phospholipids).

Animal degumming

Similar to vegetable degumming, it is also possible to perform animal degumming, starting with animal-based oil (tallow).

Diesel (for engines)

Diesel is a mixture of liquid hydrocarbons obtained through the fractional distillation of crude oil and used as fuel for engines. This fuel often needs to be purified of contaminants and suspended solids.

Diesel fuel

Diesel fuel is widely used in both small and large ships.

Citrus extracts

Citrus extracts are widely used in the food industry as well as in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

Oil from oleaginous seeds

Pressed oleaginous seeds release a large amount of oil.

Ethanol

Ethanol is obtained from corn starch. Crushed and fermented corn produces ethanol, which is also used as a fuel.

Corn starch (maizena) gluten free

To obtain corn starch, we start with ground corn.

Paints

The chemical production of paints and natural colored pigments requires the separation of the pigments (solid phase) from the liquid production phase (solvents).

Methanol

Methanol is produced from natural gas. The resulting product is a liquid with the same characteristics as methyl alcohol and is therefore sought after as a fuel for aircraft, ships, and other modes of transportation.

Pharmaceutical

The pharmaceutical sector is vast, and applications are numerous.

Prickly pear

Fruits such as prickly pear are used in various food and non-food applications.

Oleaginous fruits

Some fruits are oleaginous, meaning they contain a significant amount of oil that needs to be separated from its solid and aqueous components.

UCO (used cooking oil)

The collection of used cooking oil, known by acronyms such as UCO, UVO, WVO, WCO, such as used fryer oil, is continually increasing.

Humus fertilizer

Humus fertilizer is produced by mixing water with its organic component (biomass), similar to other analogous products.

Ink

The production of ink results in a liquid that, during the manufacturing process, becomes contaminated with solid components, making the ink unsuitable for use in printing machinery.

Milk and whey

The dairy industry is highly prevalent, and like all operators in the sector, milk must be processed once collected.

Latex

Latex is obtained from the sap of certain trees found primarily in the equatorial region.

Lubrorefrigerants and lubricating oil

The oil used for turning as a lubricant for tools consists of approximately 95% water and 5% oil and turning chips. Typically, the oil is water-soluble, creating a solution called a lubricating coolant, which a mechanical separator cannot separate without the aid of chemicals (and/or high temperature).

Mineral oils

The category of mineral oils encompasses a wide range of applications.

Cashew oil and similar

The search for more cost-effective oils for engines has led to the use of cashew oil.

Butter oil

Butter oil can be produced in two different ways.

Hemp oil

Hemp oil is derived from the hemp plant.

Olive oil

Traditional mills use stone wheels for crushing olives, while pressing is done using hydraulic presses. Although less common today, these systems are still present.

Fish oil

The fish waste is cooked, and from the cooking process, we obtain an aqueous solution rich in solids (biomass). First, the solids need to be separated from the liquid, and a solid-liquid decanter is the suitable machine for this process.

Salmon oil

Salmon oil is similar to fish oil (see dedicated application).

Sea buckthorn

Sea buckthorn is becoming increasingly recognized for its beneficial properties for the human body.

Potato juice

Potato juice, like other juices, is rich in nutrients.

Soap pastes

Soap pastes are obtained through the alkaline refining of fatty oils. These pastes undergo preliminary treatment with sulfuric acid to produce oleins intended for soap production or other purposes.

Leachate

Landfill leachate is the polluted liquid phase that must be treated before disposal.

Precipitates

Often in various industrial fields, precipitates form during production.

Probiotics

Probiotics are increasingly present in production, with even small-scale companies specializing in their manufacturing.

Lard

Lard is a highly prized animal fat obtained from the fat tissue (lard) of animals (pigs).

Blood hemoglobin and plasma

Blood collected from slaughterhouses can be processed and turned into a valuable resource.

Essential oils

Essential oils are obtained through the pressing and distillation of citrus fruits or herbs. During distillation, essential oils are in liquid form.
