Wine is centrifuged to remove its residual solid
components. A vertical disc separator is ideal for this task.
Sometimes, wine, like sparkling wines, needs to be
processed in a controlled atmospheric condition. For this purpose,
there are vertical centrifuges that separate the wine from the
residual solids while being hermetically sealed to prevent air
exchange between the inside of the separator (where the wine is) and
the outside. This ensures that the concentration of bubbles in the
treated product remains consistent before and after centrifugation.
In the production and processing of grapes, a
product known as must is also generated. To clarify this product, a
solid-liquid decanter is generally used to reduce the concentration
of water. In cases where the musts have mutated, a centrifugal pump
on the outlet is not necessary.
