Vegetation water is a byproduct of the three-phase
olive mill process.
It is created during the production of olive oil
and is essentially an aqueous solution of dark-colored organic
substances that tend to have a strong characteristic odor. These are
the wash and process waters and are regulated to prevent uncontrolled
dispersion into nature.
Vegetation water can also be treated with a
horizontal screw decanter to separate its liquid and solid
components, turning what has always been considered waste into a raw
material.
