The
dairy industry is highly prevalent, and like all operators in the
sector, milk must be processed once collected.
First
and foremost, it must be cleaned—more specifically, it must be
purified of all organic and non-organic contaminants that may have
polluted the milk during collection.
It
is crucial that the milk enters the processing phase free of
contaminants, as this could spoil the product and make it unsuitable
for human consumption.
A
clarifier separator is the ideal centrifuge for this initial step.
The
next phase where a separator is used is the skimming of the milk:
here, milk is separated from cream, specifically from all the cream.
This process is also achieved using a centrifuge, but different from
the one used earlier for milk cleaning.
In
the final stage, whey can be obtained from the cream, and again, a
vertical separator is ideal for separating raw whey from suspended
contaminating particles.
It
is easy to understand why vertical separators are used extensively in
dairies and similar industries.
