Hemp
oil is derived from the hemp plant. The traditional production
methods involve either pressing the hemp seeds or extracting with
solvents.
Pressing:
This method yields less oil compared to solvent extraction but is
simpler and avoids toxic residues.
Solvent
Extraction: This method provides a higher yield of oil but involves
longer extraction times and the presence of toxic residues.
The
process is similar to the production of oilseeds (see dedicated
application).
