There are numerous applications for fruit juices
and a wide variety of fruits from which to extract juices.
Apple juice, for example, is obtained by pressing
apples to produce a pulp rich in suspended particles that need to be
removed. For this process, a solid-liquid decanter is used first to
reduce the amount of suspended solids, followed by a clarifying disc
separator for food use, which, in a single continuous, self-cleaning,
and efficient pass, provides the desired results.
Centrifuges are also used for the production of
juices from pears, peaches, apricots, plums, kiwis, berries, mangoes,
guavas, papayas, lychees, carrots, tomatoes, grapes, and pineapples,
although different adjustments to the equipment may be necessary for
each type.
