The
industry uses a huge variety of flavored extracts.
These
are produced using enzymes and/or alcohol and then distilled so that
the alcohol separates from the dissolved flavors.
The
centrifuge is used to separate the spent biomass from the alcohol. A
decanter can perform the first pass to remove the bulk of the solids
that would clog the vertical centrifuge in the subsequent
clarification phase.
The
extraordinary centrifugal force of the vertical centrifuge then
separates the alcohol, leaving it perfectly clear and clarified from
its residual biomass.
