Ethanol

Ethanol is obtained from corn starch. Crushed and fermented corn produces ethanol, which is also used as a fuel.

Traditionally, a horizontal decanter with a screw conveyor is used to separate the solid part (biomass) from the broth.

During the crushing phase, however, there is also a release of corn oil, which can be separated from the water and suspended solids using a vertical disc centrifuge.

Decanter

Continuous centrifugal extractor with a horizontal axis auger is able to separate a solid phase from one or two liquid phases.

Separators

Vertical axis continuous disc separators are used to separate solids from one or two liquids and to separate two different liquids.
